Immediate Dentures

An immediate denture is a complete denture or partial denture inserted on the same day, immediately following the removal of natural teeth.

There are several advantages of an immediate denture. The most important factor is that you will never need to appear in public without teeth. It is also easier to duplicate the shape, color and arrangement of your natural teeth while some are still present in your mouth. When an immediate denture is inserted at the time of extraction, it will act as a Band-Aid to protect the tissues and reduce bleeding. An immediate denture will allow you to establish your speech patterns early. You will not have to learn to speak without a denture in place and then later relearn to speak with a new denture. An immediate denture will also allow you to chew better than without any teeth and minimize facial distortion that may occur when teeth are removed.

DuraFlex Flexible Partial Dentures

Paget Denture Clinic is proud to be using the newest flexible alternative to acrylic dentures on the market, DuraFlex Flexible Partials. DuraFlex provides several new and unique benefits to you.

DuraFlex’s most distinguishing benefit derives from its material makeup, as it is not a nylon base but rather a polyolefin thermoplastic polymer. This material has been used in the medical field for years because of its inert, durable and resistant quality to many chemical solvents, bases and acids. With a water resorption rate that is ten times lower than nylon, DuraFlex is extremely resistant to stain and odors, making it our most durable and color stable flexible solution. In addition, polyolefins are much easier to adjust and polish, and will not gum up when adjusting, making DuraFlex our most convenient and dependable material we can provide to you.

Preparation/Impression

DuraFlex provides a natural, snap-fit for retention. No tooth or tissue preparation is required.

Shade Selection

DuraFlex comes in three shades – tissue tone pink (standard) produced to remain translucent after processing, a meharry tone and a medium blend.

Cast Partials

A Cast Partial Denture (CPD) is defined as a removable partial denture consisting of a cast metal framework that contains artificial teeth set in an acrylic resin. As compared to conventional acrylic denture, Cast Partial Denture is stronger, more durable and retentive.

VELscope Vx

The Two-Minute Exam that could save your life!

The VELscope Vx helps us identify oral disease early, while it’s still easy to treat. One of the VELscope’s most important tasks is to help locate areas that might, if not treated, progress to oral cancer.

The VELscope’s blue light stimulates natural fluorescence in the soft tissues of your mouth. Natural fluorescence, seen through the VELscope Vx, allows dental professionals to see disease not visible with the naked eye.

Sports Guards / Mouth Guards

Imagine what it would be like if you suddenly lost one or two of your front teeth. Smiling, talking, eating—everything would suddenly be affected. Knowing how to prevent injuries to your mouth and face is especially important if you participate in organised sports or other recreational activities.

Mouth Guards, also called mouth protectors, help cushion a blow to the face, minimising the risk of broken teeth and injuries to your lips, tongue, face or jaw. They typically cover the upper teeth and are a great way to protect the soft tissues of your tongue, lips and cheek lining.
